Wayne Glover

Wayne Herman Glover, 82, a resident of Noblesville, Indiana passed away at his home on Thursday, September 13, 2012. He was born in Sheridan, Indiana on July 20, 1930 to Elijah and Fannie Bell (Bush) Glover and married 60 years to Maizie (White) Glover, who survives him.
A graduate of Noblesville High School, Wayne was named most valuable player for the football team his senior season. He briefly attended Indiana University before enlisting in the United States Air Force. As part of the Air Force's Strategic Air Command, Wayne served during the Korean War and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA.
Following his honorable discharge, he worked for the United States Post Office for many years before becoming a licensed insurance salesman with Metropolitan and Prudential Insurance Companies. In 1977, Wayne, his brother, Myron, and their father, Elijah, acquired a liquor permit and opened Mr. G's Liquors in Noblesville. Mr. G's continues to operate as a family owned wine and spirits store in the City of Noblesville.
A strong believer in community involvement, Wayne served on the Noblesville Human Relations Commission during the early 1970's, the Noblesville Public Library Board in the 1980's, and the Noblesville Parks and Recreation Board until his death.
In addition to his wife, Maizie, he is survived by his son, Bryan Glover of Noblesville; daughters, Lezli Davis (Johnny) of Toronto, Marcia Granger (Charles) of Noblesville, Lizabeth Wilson (Michael) of Minneapolis; son-in-law, Ken Hopper of Dallas; sisters, Dana Hughes of Noblesville, Mary Page of Indianapolis; brother, Myron Glover (Sandra) of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; brother-in-laws, Norman (Marva) White of Indianapolis, Doram Richardson of LaPalma, CA; and a host of extended family members.
Wayne was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Pamela (Glover) Hopper; and two sisters, Maxine Glover and Natalie Richardson.
All are invited to call Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville, from 2-4 pm where his memorial service will immediately follow at 4 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bethel A.M.E. Church located at 697 S. Walnut Street, Noblesville, Indiana 46060.
