Wayne T. Grimsey, 73, of Sellersburg, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He was born on July 11, 1939 to George and Ethel (Schofield) Grimsey in Mount Vernon, New York. His parents precede him in death.
Wayne worked 28 years as a manager of sales support for AT&T, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Calvary Christian Church of Sellersburg, Indiana, and previously a member of College Church in Wheaton, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving state side during the Vietnam War era; and served in the United States Army during Desert Storm. He was an Eagle Scout, lifeguard, and also served as a police officer. He was a member of the NRA, loved the outdoors and collected antiques. Most of all he loved the Lord and his family.
He is survived by his former USAF nurse wife of 48 years, Carolyn (Jones) Grimsey; son, Tom (Heidi) Grimsey; daughter, Karen (Eric Reiss) Grimsey; five grandchildren, Ben, Emmaline, Kimberlee, Isaiah and Evangeline; brother, Gary Grimsey; and sisters, Merle and Elaine Grimsey.
A graveside service with military rites will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, February 8, 2013, at New Albany National Cemetery, 1943 Ekin Avenue, in New Albany, Indiana, with Pastor Gary Fenner officiating.
