Wilbur 'Gene' Bauer, 85, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Rawlins House Health & Living Community in Pendleton. He was born on August 28, 1927 to Edward and Gracie (Leonard) Bauer in Sheridan, IN.
Gene was a crane operator for Delco-Remy for over 30 years; and was a member of East Lynn Christian Church in Anderson. He loved John Deere tractors, auto racing, and the Colts; and raced midgets in his young adult life.
He is survived by two daughters, Janet Bauer and Judy (Terry) Turpin both of Noblesville; two grandchildren, Mike (Jeanine) Turpin and Traci (Brian) DeHaven; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, E. Madalin Bauer; his second wife, Lena Cook Bauer; a sister, Helen Feaster; and three brothers, Ernie Bauer, Ray Bauer and Don Bauer.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 25, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am immediately prior to the service. Pastor Mike Summers will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
