Wilford M Dobson, 97, of Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Riverview Hospital. He was born on December 1, 1914 to Ernest and Dallas (Stallcop) Dobson in Lena, Indiana.
Wilford worked as a mechanic for Hudson's Battery & Electric and was a member of the Brazil First United Methodist Church where he served as choir director for many years. He played tuba in the Brazil Concert Band for 68 years and was president and historian for many years. He was also a member of the Brazil Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by daughters, Mary (Gordon) Resler and Jane (Joe) Poio; granddaughter, Angie (Bill) Labinowicz; grandson, Ben Resler; and great-grandchild, Jakub Resler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Lois Dobson and brothers, Wayne, James and Bill Dobson.
Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument Street, in Noblesville with visitation beginning at 6:00 pm prior to the service. An additional service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Brazil First United Methodist Church on North Meridian Street in Brazil with the Rev. Jack Wolfe officiating both services. Burial will be at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Brazil, Indiana.
