Willard F. Stapleton, 73, went Home to be with his Lord Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his residence in Noblesville. He was born February 3, 1935 in Lee County, Virginia to Andrew and Noy (Ewing) Stapleton.
Willard was an Elder of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He loved gospel music and sang in a quartet for over 50 years. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He and his wife Rachel were married on December 2, 1955. Willard retired in 2000 from Noblesville Public Schools where he worked in maintenance.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Rogers Stapleton of Noblesville; daughter, Deborah (& Lloyd) Blankenship of Noblesville; son, Steven J. Stapleton of Noblesville; daughter, Melissa (& Bradon) Stapleton Barnes of Carmel; grandchildren, Shane Butler, Shawn Butler, Matthew Butler, Andrew Stapleton, Adam Stapleton, Nate Barnes, Kristin Barnes, and Jackson Barnes; great-grandson, Zavier Butler; sisters, Geneva Napier and Lorrean Thomas; and brother, Charles Stapleton.
In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Stapleton.
Services will be held at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 825 South 11th Street, Noblesville, on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor David R. Rogers officiating. Friends may call at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Friday, November 28. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
