William W. "Bill" Chesser

William W. "Bill" Chesser, age 77, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. He was born on August 11, 1939 to Warren L. and Kathryn (Brooks) Chesser in Shelbyville, Indiana.
Bill graduated from Manilla High School (Rush County) in 1957. He enlisted in the Navy and served until 1960. At that time, Bill began a career in banking and finance for the next several years. He then went to work for the City of Indianapolis, beginning in the Parks Department and retiring from the Department of Public Works in 2013. Bill attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth. He loved hunting and had been a guest hunter on programs for the Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel. His interests included woodworking, wood carving, antiquing, and flying - as a pilot. Bill was an artist with a passion for painting, and was always an avid golfer.
Survivors include his children, Michael W. Chesser and Elizabeth (Betsy) Chesser; granddaughters, Amee Killion and Joslyn Chesser; great-grandson, Carter Killion; and also his sister, Janet Singh, her children Kiran and Ranjeet and families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Chesser in 2013.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville.
