William A. Rosa, 83, Fishers, Indiana died Thursday, December 11, 2008. He was born on September 27, 1925 in Richmond, IN to Roland and Josephine (Notestine) Rosa.
Bill was a graduate of Richmond High School; served with the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII; and had attended Earlham College. He had been an insurance agent for CUNA Life Insurance (formerly Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance), retiring in 1990.
He was active in his church, Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in Fishers, where he led the senior Bible study for many years. He was also a member of the Fishers American Legion and the Indianapolis Historical Society.
He is survived by his wife Audrey, having celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August 2008; two children, Deborah (& Forrest) Held of Lafayette, IN, and Jim (& Elaine) Rosa of Noblesville; four grandchildren, Alison (& Jeffery) Gardner, Garrett Held, and Jamie & Lindsay Rosa; two great-grandchildren, William & Benjamin Gardner; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie; and a brother, Robert.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19 at 11:00AM at Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in Fishers, with calling beginning at 10:00AM, prior to the service.
