William R. Stewart, 93, of Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born on September 1, 1922 to William Ralph and Elizabeth (Endres) Stewart in Lebanon, Indiana.
William was a 1940 graduate of Lebanon High School, and proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He worked as a draftsman for Firestone, retiring in 1985. William was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church since 1948, and was an avid golfer, playing regularly in the Firestone Golf League.
He is survived by his children, Sue Stewart, Randy Stewart (Perry Willis), Garry Stewart, Rodney Stewart (Ed Alsip), and John (Tammy) Stewart; grandchildren, Garry II, Gina, Gerad, & Genise Stewart, Emily Compton, Laura Dalton, Wil Stewart & Victoria Stewart; great-grandchildren, Tanner Dalton, Sawyer Dalton, Jude Davis, and Maxwell Stewart.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Wilhoite Stewart on November 19, 2003; and his sister, Ruth Boyer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 East 191st Street, in Noblesville, with Rev. Peter Logsdon officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
