Jason Wilds

On February 8, 2022, Jason Ryan Wilds of Fishers, Indiana passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep.  Jason was born on September 4, 1972, and in his 49 years on this earth, had more positive impact on the people around him than most of us can ever hope to have.

He will be incredibly missed by his wife of 23 years, Becca, and his sons, Brayton and Christian.  A large extended family beyond his beloved “core of four” is also grieving his loss.  His mother, father, sister and brother and a host of in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews were all the beneficiary of his warmth, easy laugh and joyful personality.

Jason worked for 18 years in Sales & Marketing for Samsung Telecommunications, where his effortless ability to build relationships and make others feel validated and well taken care of made him pretty much a rock star at his job.  But there’s no question that he always felt his first and most important job was to be an awesome husband and dad.  He gets an “Excellence Achieved” rating on that performance review.

The truth is that Jason created “family” everywhere he was involved.  Our neighborhood will never be the same without his helpfulness, crazy antics and firepit nights.  The Fishers Running Club has lost a leader, mascot and the most supportive finisher in the books.  His volunteer work with Million Meal Movement and so many other organizations, from vehicle service ministries to working with junior high kids at church (and that takes bravery) was a highlight of his reputation.

It will sound like gushing, but if you knew him, you know that there is no exaggeration in the statement that he was one of the most generous, loving, funny guys you knew.  In his presence, you were the best of yourself.   Truth told, Jason was just born to be a great guy – he led from a place of kindness no matter what and always prized having a patient, gentle, easy-going approach to life.

But Jason would want it clearly known that beyond his natural gift for being awesome, the inner light that fueled him was his love for Jesus, and his mission to “love his neighbor as himself”.  We know exactly where Jason’s spirit is now.  He is with God and has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Jason – we love you fiercely, and we cannot wait to see you again.

Please join us to remember him and send him off in style.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, with a service at 7:00 pm at Grace Church, 5504 E 146th Street in Noblesville. A reception will follow the service at the church.

Note:  Please come comfortably dressed.  Jason would absolutely laugh if you feel the need to dry clean a suit or wear heels to see him off.
